The year 1995 saw some amazing beginnings: eBay was launched, the first installment of Toy Story premiered, and the company that became your ACORPP was established.

We started out as Smith Tucker Property Services in 1995, then changed to Vic Smith and Associates and, subsequently, VSA until a rebrand in late 2013 that launched ACORPP.

One of our current ACORPP directors who was there almost at the beginning was Lisa Seun. She remembers a very different company to the one whose leadership team she sits on today.

“At the beginning, we shared an office on ‘the Terrace’ in Perth with another company.  It was a pretty small team in those days, just the founder, Vic Smith and me if we didn’t count borrowed staff members, but the business was still very much focused on the corporate end user and tenant representation. I was studying at uni at the time and learning on the job,” Lisa said.

“A few years later there was a management buy out and Justin and I became Vic Smith & Associates and after steady growth, we later moved to Southport Street in West Leederville. Tenant representation was still the main service and we had a growing portfolio of private and public sector clients.

Lisa said that strong growth triggered the need for another rebrand to reflect the increasing “corporatisation” of the consultancy.  The name was changed to “VSA” that better positioned the company to pitch for larger private and public sector clients. The business had also acquired expertise in project management for client side fitouts and construction.

Further growth and the opportunity to open an eastern seaboard presence in Brisbane, prompted a rebrand that launched ACORPP.

“I’ve been part of many changes, but they’ve all been important steps in the growth of the business. We’re the sum of the efforts of all those people who have been part of our journey,” she said.

“I think we now have a great team with a great balance of services and we’re structured for continual growth.  I think the next 20 years will be even better.”

On behalf of the team at ACORPP, we take this opportunity to thank our familes, clients and industry colleagues who have been part of our journey.  As they say at the Oscars, “we couldn’t have done it without you, thank you.”
